Silver

Are you brand new to handguns? Or maybe it’s just been awhile since you fired a handgun. Either way, this course will teach you the basics of handgun safety and shooting. You don’t need any prior handgun experience and you don’t have to bring anything except your curiosity and a desire to learn. We take care of everything. Of course, if you have a handgun, feel free to bring it with you.

Our certified instructors will take you through the simple, basic safety rules and teach you the fundamentals of how to shoot a handgun confidently. We’ll then take you out on the range for some supervised shooting. Nobody walks away from this course without a big smile.

2 Hour Class

The Stock & Barrel Permit to Carry Course covers a wide range of topics ensuring that students have a solid base of knowledge if they choose to carry a firearm for protection. In addition to classroom time covering various topics there is also range time for shooting instruction and qualification. 

Topics covered include but aren’t limited to:

-Concealed carry lifestyle/mindset

-Obtaining your permit

-Where you are prohibited from carrying

-Carrying in other states

-Laws on the use of deadly force

-Firearms Safety

-Handguns and carry equipment

-Training

-Handgun qualification

While this course is geared towards people interested in obtaining their Permit to Carry, it is also a great course for people who are interested in simply learning more about firearms, safety, and the law.

4 Hour Class

Good judgment is critical to carrying a gun. Understanding when to retreat and when you have no options. This course makes use of the virtual range to help students learn when they should or should not engage. We use a wide variety of scenarios, discussion and review actions, and options for each one. Students will be challenged to explain their actions and examine consequences. 

2 Hour Class

A flashlight is simply the best, most effective self defense tool one can own after a cell phone and a gun. For those who choose to not carry a firearm, or even if you do, we overwhelmingly suggest the addition of a flashlight to your every day carry. This course focuses on how to deploy a flashlight as a defensive tool as well as other less than lethal techniques of defending yourself.

2 Hour Class

This course will provide you practical, actionable skills to help survive a violent intrusion of your home. Having a gun is not enough. You need a plan. We will help you become mentally prepared for the contingencies involved in surviving a home invasion. What are the methods and equipment you need to minimize risk while maximizing your ability to stop the threat? How are your weapons staged throughout your home? How do you plan change based on who is in the house with you, young children, teens, people with special needs, and where they are located? We will be answering these questions and more. 

2 Hour Class

Gold

Prerequisite: Silver Level Classes

This course is a must for anyone carrying a handgun. This is an intermediate-level course designed for those comfortable and proficient in handling their personal firearm. This class will teach you to draw safely and effectively from concealment. Please bring your handgun, holster, belt, and a box of ammunition. You will also need a cover garment and a t-shirt worn underneath your cover garment. Please contact your instructor for help with obtaining the proper equipment for the class.  Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are no longer renting eye and ear protection. You may bring your own, or they are available for purchase at a nominal cost.

Prerequisite: Intro to Handgun Safety or MN Multi-State Permit To Carry – Concealed Carry Course

2 Hour Class

This is an intermediate level class for students who are familiar with their handgun and competent in handgun fundamentals including grip, stance, trigger control, and sight picture. Students will learn how to use a flashlight in conjunction with their handgun as a defensive weapon and shooting aid. This is a live fire course that covers the various techniques for deploying a flashlight and the tactics necessary to defend yourself specific to low light and no light situations. This is a live fire, down range course that requires you bring a handgun, flashlight, and 100 rounds of ammunition.

2 Hour Class

This is a non-firing introduction to drawing a weapon under stress. Students learn proper draw path, grip and target engagement. They learn to draw while being held, pushed or confined. Students will also learn to draw from seated positions, on the ground, and on the move.

2 Hour Class

Most Defensive Shooting involves physical contact with shots fired from less than 12 inches away. CQS class introduces the student to shoot effectively in tight confines. Drawing when engaged with an attacker, hi / low retention and index shooting are all part of this live fire course. Students will need to bring their handgun, holster, and 100 rounds of ammunition.

Prerequisite: Drawing from the Holster and Drawing under Duress

2 Hour Class

Platinum

Prerequisite: Gold Level Classes

This high energy course will have your adrenaline pumping. Students in this course will find themselves in the midst of a large number of crisis situations, all staged in real time where they have to make quick shoot / no shoot decisions and know what to do in order to survive. Students will learn to identify warning signs before an attack, actions to take during the fight, and how to deal with the aftermath. This non-live fire course envelops the student in real-world scenarios and provides a culmination of learning like no other class we offer. 

2 Hour Class

Building off the knowledge gained in Close Quarters Shooting I, this class will add layers of stress including low light, visual obstructions, firing from cover, and shooting while moving. Students will need to bring their handgun, holster, and 100 rounds of ammunition.

Prerequisite: Drawing from the Holster, Drawing under Duress and Close Quarters Shooting I

2 Hour Class

Building off the knowledge gained in CQS I and CQS II. We add additional stressors including advanced movement of the shooter and the target. Drawing from tight quarters from non-traditional positions, using cover, and getting past distractions. In this course, we will also add malfunctions, re-loads and other challenges for the shooter to overcome. Students will need to bring their handgun, holster, and 100 rounds of ammunition.
